Role Overview: You will hold a pivotal senior position reporting directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of financial activities, with a specific focus on regulatory compliance within the European Economic Area, including direct engagement with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). Your leadership will play a critical role in shaping our client's strategic direction and upholding its position as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Strategy:

  • Oversee all financial operations, driving efficiency and strategic alignment.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and financial goal attainment.
  • Monitor performance metrics, provide strategic advice, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with executives on financial proposals and priorities.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Enhance internal financial controls, mitigate risks, and optimize systems for operational efficiency.

External Relationships:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including advisors, auditors, bankers, and consultants.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and growth.
  • Drive recruitment, training, and development initiatives within the finance department.

About You: We prioritize aptitude, passion, and a commitment to excellence over a rigid checklist of qualifications. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant with prior regulatory approval (PQ’d through the MFSA) and experience in payments, card schemes, or financial services.
